Show the work. Correct the record.
Read the archive's correction policy, review roles and verifiable changes. A successful build is not historical peer review.
This curated ledger records named changes already merged into the project, not every Git commit or a claim of historical accuracy. A feature release records software and editorial delivery, not specialist review. No public correction records have yet been documented. Zero correction records does not establish that the archive is error-free.
Corrections and withdrawals.
A correction is logged when a specific, documented issue in published material is addressed. A clarification adds qualification; a withdrawal warns that material should not be relied upon. An ordinary new feature is not a correction. Reports that are still private, unidentified or under examination do not appear here as confirmed problems.
0 public correction records. This does not establish that no mistakes exist. No submitted public correction case has been independently verified or closed in this record.
Prepare a local correction draftHow a reported issue is handled.
- Identify. Point to the exact article, section and statement, and distinguish a factual error from an alternative interpretation or a rights/privacy concern.
- Assess. Check primary evidence, Scripture for biblical accounts, relevant specialist scholarship, source versions and any living participant's consent. Record differing interpretations and unresolved gaps.
- Decide. Document a reasoned editorial action: correct, clarify, withdraw, retain with explanation or seek a qualified reviewer. Never mark a claim independently reviewed without an identified reviewer, date and scope.
- Publish and trace. When a public correction is warranted, link the article, evidence, change notice and immutable repository commit, without exposing private correspondence or personal data.
The submission channel is not currently operational. A draft downloaded from this site is not a submitted report. There is no promised response time or private case-management service.
Roles and independent verification.
Maintainer and release editor
Responsible for approving public updates through GitHub; a release commit does not constitute independent historical review.
Project maintenance role; individual not identified in this registerSubject editor
Future role for section-specific historical, manuscript, biblical, linguistic or diaspora editorial decisions.
Not assigned or verifiedIndependent specialist reviewer
Requires an identified, qualified person, documented scope, date and assessment before a completion claim may be displayed.
Not assigned or verifiedCommunity testimony and rights custodian
A future responsible person or institution needed before accepting private interviews, releases or restrictive material.
Not assigned or verified
Review roles are defined here, but unassigned positions are not represented as staffed. The claim-level evidence queue retains separate, stricter criteria for independent review. The Evidence Register documents references, not editorial sign-off.
Selected published changes.
This is a curated record of published major milestones, not a complete Git log. Dates and commit IDs refer to existing repository changes; some prior and minor changes are not individually catalogued here. Automated tests support reproducibility, not the historical truth of every editorial statement.
REV-0024Boxed section references with full named citations2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Restored the shaded and bordered reference box for every mapped original article section. Supporting sources display their full linked title, publisher and any page, law or tablet-line location. Scripture references retain book, chapter and verse labels. Removed compact display settings and extended citation tests across all mapped editorial sections.
Limits: This presentation correction preserves the expanded prose, original article URLs, biblical excerpts, citation destinations and review statuses. PR #39 passed GitHub root and project-path validation before merging. The styling and link tests do not constitute independent historical review.

REV-0023Site-wide substantive reading and original article review2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Expanded 106 original articles with 186 explanatory sections or integrated additions across history, language, culture, church traditions, diaspora, object studies and biblical narratives. Recorded explicit decisions for all 122 original articles and inventoried all 639 generated HTML routes by purpose. Added bounded exact primary Scripture excerpts, two named caravan-business tablet examples and validation for new source trails and content coverage.
Limits: Existing URLs, original section anchors, full preserved references and Bible chapters remain available. GitHub validation passed before PR #38 merged. This completes a full-inventory editorial pass, not exhaustive subject coverage, independent historical review or linguistic specialist sign-off. Browser and live publication checks are separate from these source and build checks.

REV-0022Substantive Middle Assyrian historical articles and pinpoint citations2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Rewrote all nine Middle Assyrian guides across 45 sections so readers can learn the subject on the page. Added explanations of MAL A 40-41, marriage and inheritance, women's transactions, agricultural organisation, named provisioning receipts, provincial letters, ritual offerings and medicine/divination. Added five identified source records, compact numbered citations with page or tablet-line locators, real paragraph breaks and updated anchors for 14 existing pending claims. Established a substantive article standard and an inventory of 122 original articles, with the remaining site-wide work tracked in Next Chapters.
Limits: Existing article URLs are preserved. Citations support the explanation rather than replacing it. Both root and project-path builds and all GitHub validation checks passed before merge. The wider editorial rewrite remains in progress; the change does not establish independent historical review or source collation.

REV-0021Middle Assyrian tile hover - theme and Explore style parity2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Removed the fixed pale beige hover fill from all nine Middle Assyrian study tiles. Matching the existing Explore card behaviour, tiles now keep the theme-aware var(--white) surface and gently raise with the same subtle shadow on hover or keyboard focus-within, avoiding glaring light patches in dark mode. Preserved responsive layout, source summaries and full-tile article links. Added CSS equivalence, light/dark mode colour and nine-tile markup regression tests in the standard validation workflow, and updated the Middle Assyrian Next Chapters roadmap.
Limits: Improved light/dark visual consistency and keyboard focus behaviour on /middle-assyrian/. No evidence sources, scholarly text, biblical content or claim review statuses were changed. Root and GitHub Pages subpath CI builds passed before merging; automated styling checks are not a substitute for manual interaction and assistive technology evaluation.

REV-0020Explore topic categories - startup fault and browser filter regression2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Fixed a JavaScript initialisation error where querySelector('.search-open') was treated as an iterable with .forEach(), preventing the rest of the page's JavaScript setup, including all Explore topic filters, search, sort and reset controls. Corrected the search trigger binding using querySelectorAll, aligned results labels with reading entries, and added a comprehensive real-script Node VM regression suite exercising all six topics, homepage ?topic= links, invalid topic values, search/category intersection, sorting, empty state, counts and reset. The new test runs in standard validation CI. Patch-level usability correction; source records, historical claims and content were not changed.
Limits: Restores functioning Explore category buttons under the search bar, along with the header search trigger and related page controls. Root and GitHub Pages subpath builds and all automated regression tests passed before merge. Automated browser simulation does not substitute for manual Safari, touch and assistive technology testing.

REV-0019Ancient Kaldu lineage evidence: historical proof requirement2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Revised the source-critical guide, Assyrian identity article, Chaldean Catholic Church entry and linked Christian tradition explanations to state explicitly that no ancient-to-modern Kaldu ancestry or discrete ethnicity for the present Chaldean Catholic community is demonstrated in the archive's cited primary record. The evidence finding is NOT DEMONSTRATED, rather than a conjecture treated as an equally evidenced alternative to documented East Syriac, Church of the East and Assyrian communal inheritance. Recorded present-day self-descriptions as contemporary observations only, not proof of ancient descent. Added Elizabeth E. Payne's independent ancient-history reference, updated the provenance limits for Coakley, Hanoosh, Iranica and Donabed, expanded three individually mapped evidence sections and registered three additional anchored unreviewed claims CL-089 to CL-091. Curated sources are now 139; mapped evidence trails 379; claim queue 91.
Limits: The question of ancient ancestry is evaluated against positive dated records rather than denominational dogma, reuse of an ancient name or modern identity preference. The ancient Kaldu of southern Babylonia and later northern Mesopotamian Chaldean Catholic ecclesiastical identity have distinct source histories. A bounded absence of demonstrated evidence is not a global genetic finding, a prohibition of contemporary self-identification or an assertion that every possible archive has been reviewed. Independent Assyriological, early-modern archival and ethnographic specialist review remains outstanding.

REV-0018Chaldean Catholic church designation and shared Assyrian heritage: independent identity sources2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Substantially expanded the Assyrian identity, Syriac church traditions and Chaldean Catholic Church essays; added a ten-section source-critical guide distinguishing church communion from ancient ethnic descent, ancient Babylonian Kaldu, nineteenth-century ethnic naming debates, Assyrian cross-denominational heritage and present-day self-identification. Added seven independently attributed scholarly, ancient-history and institutional references bringing curated sources to 138. Explicitly labelled Chaldean diocesan and CNEWA material as church institutional testimony, not independent ethnicity evidence. Maintained 29 mapped sections across four identity essays, bringing total section reading trails to 376, and added eight anchored, pending expert-review claims CL-081 to CL-088 bringing the claim register to 88. Linked guide from Explore's balanced columns and added source-provenance regression tests.
Limits: Chaldean Catholic is firmly identified as a church affiliation; that affiliation is not proof of an ancient ethnicity or separate language. The article records that modern ethnic self-identification and scholarly disagreement also exist, and does not assert anachronistic late-1990s invention, unbroken descent from ancient Kaldu or unsupported malevolent motives. Independent evidence types and incomplete journal/book access are disclosed, and no named independent specialist review has occurred.

REV-0017Exile, resettlement and provincial life - primary source strengthening2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Published twelve source-typed studies with seventeen biblical reading routes and thirteen distinct supporting reference identities across five research categories, plus seven new institutionally catalogued primary and academic records. Added one directly identified Samarian grain-tax letter SAA 1 220/P334789, preserved separate original royal records and museum visual objects, and gave specialist-only citation status to the Aramaean logistics and household letters SAA 19 17-18 and later Guzana name references SAA 16 63. Expanded the existing Assyrian exile dossier by seven substantial sections and Samaria by one, linked eight additional section reading trails and eight pending original claims to the source and evidence registers. The curated source library now has 131 maintained records; the awaiting-independent-review queue has 80 anchored claims.
Limits: Scripture remains primary evidence for biblical passages and stated destinations; ancient letters, royal inscriptions and reliefs are direct evidence only for their own claims and materials. Halah-Halahhu and Guzana/Habor interpretations remain historical geography, the Medes' provincial dates remain conditional reconstructions, and Aramaean letters or later Judah reliefs are not misattributed to Israelite deportee groups. Original-language collation, ancient population ancestry assertions, full Oxford chapter audit, real-device interactions, cartographic verification and named independent specialist review remain pending.

REV-0016Balanced global navigation and automatic desktop hover dismissal2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Reorganised the growing Research menu into three grouped desktop columns, Explore into two, with two-column medium screens and stacked mobile disclosure sections. Fixed selection of only the first native details group in shared JavaScript, implemented mouse pointerenter and pointerleave behaviour that closes when leaving trigger and submenu, removed the interaction gap, and retained keyboard and touch behaviour. New navigation tests check destination coverage, category balance, disclosure semantics and breakpoint safeguards.
Limits: All thirteen Research destinations, seven Explore destinations and other global links remain exposed on desktop and mobile; the site links were not renamed or removed. Hover-only opening is restricted to fine-pointer desktop devices, while native detail disclosures and accessible focus indicators remain. Real-device screen-reader, Mac Safari and landscape touch testing remain outstanding; automated link and layout-source checks do not replace that review.

REV-0015The Fall of Samaria and Assyrian succession2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Published eight documented comparison cases over four teaching-order stages with twelve biblical reading routes, five directly identified RINAP editions, a clearly labelled Shalmaneser V specialist synthesis, edition-specific uncertainty and provenance, an accessible progressive phase filter and offline JSON. Added six mapped historical sections, six anchored claims and five institutional source records, raising the curated source library to 124 and the independent review queue to 72.
Limits: Samaria history is not reduced to an invented single siege account. The Bible names Shalmaneser V in the siege narrative while royal Sargonic inscriptions claim conquest. The Pekah/Hoshea killing verb is broken, Sargon deportation totals differ across exemplars, and Sargon annal restorations are distinguishable from preserved signs. Direct citation checks and automated validation do not substitute for independent historical, Assyriological or biblical specialist review.

REV-0014Royal inscriptions and biblical cross-verification2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Published six source-scoped comparisons across three edited royal inscription identities and a separately identified Lachish relief, with ten precise biblical reading routes. Added three institutional original-language edition records, direct links and source mappings to four historical article sections, and four anchored claim reviews bringing the pending queue to sixty-six. A dedicated reading room, offline JSON, reciprocal article links, CI regression coverage and documented roadmap accompany the release.
Limits: The Bible is cited as primary evidence for its own statements, and royal inscription editions are direct evidence for their commissioned Assyrian claims. RINAP 3 Q003496 explicitly reports 800 silver talents where 2 Kings 18 reports 300; a shared 30 gold figure does not resolve the difference. Royal annals and palace reliefs have separate purposes, and automated tests of source coordinates do not constitute independent historical, biblical or epigraphic review.

REV-0013Ancient names and historical identity disambiguation2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Published eight source-scoped person and place evidence dossiers with twelve checked citations to the existing accessioned-object concordance and biblical primary passages. Added a dedicated research room, site-wide and reciprocal navigation, an offline dossier dataset, negative source/approval regression tests, and root/subpath build validation.
Limits: A source relationship or similar name is not an independently proven historical identity. Biblical accounts remain primary for what Scripture states; object catalogues and original-language readings have different evidentiary roles. All identity dossiers remain awaiting qualified independent scholarly review, and no new unverified inscriptions or physical object attestations were invented.

REV-0012Ancient text concordance and biblical cross-reference index2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Twenty-five manually curated research terms link thirty-two specific tablet or object evidence relationships, forty-three encyclopaedia reading routes and eleven biblical passage comparisons. A locally searchable, accessible concordance hub, direct line anchors, reciprocal article links, offline data export and source/verse validation make these connections navigable.
Limits: Relationships distinguish direct edited inscriptions, object-level context, related articles and biblical primary-text comparisons. Similar names or subjects do not establish identical historical people or events. Automated checks cannot replace independent Assyriological, biblical or accessibility review; no such completion is claimed.

REV-0011Ancient text and translation comparisons2026-10-30 / merged feature release / automated checks only
Seven source-edited Middle Assyrian tablets now show sixteen tiny, attributed sign-sequence excerpts with line references, original editorial English reading cues and uncertainty notes. Two catalogue-only objects remain without invented ancient-language text; an original five-section methods chapter, three new scholarly notation sources and nine queued claims complement the text-comparison reading room.
Limits: The source publication, attribution and CC BY-SA 3.0 terms are visible. Transliteration snippets are distinguished from normalized Akkadian, scholarly translations and independent sign collation; historical and philological verification remains outstanding for all new claims. No image copies, unauthorized full translations or fictitious readings have been included.

Nine original accessioned object studies with catalogue and CDLI/edition identity, findspot and dating disclosures, line-scope metadata, eight new curated institutional source references, 36 new mapped research sections, 12 anchored claims and a dedicated public object case-file room.
Limits: Eight Middle Assyrian objects and one separately labelled later Babylonian Chronicle are connected to their institutional records. A catalogue match is not an independent translation, complete biography or specialist philological review; all new claims remain unreviewed. Museum images and scholarly text editions have not been copied.

Nine new original research guides with 45 section-specific reading trails, ten specialist institutional and academic source records, fourteen anchored claims awaiting review, a social-history research hub and a provincial timeline entry.
Limits: Law codes remain normative rather than proof of universal actual practice. Administrative and archaeological archives describe selectively documented households and institutions. Biblical passages are used as separately dated primary texts for their own accounts, not as Middle Assyrian contemporary administrative records. No independent specialist sign-off, object-level line collation or permissions for third-party imagery is claimed.
